Ferrets should only be bathed 3 to 4 times a year. Bathing ferrets too frequently strips the necessary oils off their skin and causes it to dry out and become flaky. A good time to bathe them is during shedding seasons in the spring and fall. At the same time you can give them some toniclax (or a similar product) that is made especially to assist cats and ferrets in passing any fur they have swallowed.
